Bangladesh has brought in former New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori as a spin bowling consultant while former South African pacer Charl Langeveldt will take up the role of a bowling coach. Vettori will be part of the setup till the T20 World Cup in Australia next year. He will be available for around 100 days during their preparation to this major event. On the other hand, the 44 year old South African pacer will take charge as a full-time coach.

Vettori said, "This is a team on the rise and there is so much experience and potential. It'll be a pleasure to work with Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam and the other up and coming youngsters which I'm looking forward to with a lot of interest." The New Zealand veteran has previously taken up roles for several franchise based teams like the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL and Brisbane Heat in the BBL. He has represented the Kiwis in 113 Tests, 295 ODIs and 34 T20Is and has picked up over 700 wickets across formats. His experience might come in handy while bringing up a resurgent Bangladesh side which caused a few upsets in the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

The South African pacer will assist the fast bowlers of Bangladesh and will be seen in a full-time role. He previously worked as Afghanistan's bowling coach and as South Africa's fast bowling specialist for few years. He has represented the African nation in 6 Tests, 73 ODIs and 9 T20Is.

Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the second ODI at Colombo on Sunday. They received a trashing from the Lankans in the first ODI and went down by 91 runs.
