India PM Narendra Modi breaks news of historic Ashes win to England counterpart Boris Johnson during G7 Summit
England won a thrilling game of cricket against Australia earlier this week in the Ashes 2019, but it seems that Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson was unaware of the win until his counterpart Narendra Modi broke the news to him.Â
Johnson heard of the close win from Modi, and later watched the highlights of the win from an IPad during his engagements in the G7 summit that is being held at France.Â
The Britain PM also then spoke to the Aussie Prime Minister Scott Morrison as the duo sat down to talk on global trade, security and the environment. They also shared a moment to indulge in some banter about cricket, after England had defeated Australia in a dramatic fashion.
Smiling and shaking hands, Morris congratulated Johnson on the win, to which the latter replied, ""We're not taking anything for granted."
Morris added that Australia are still in with a chance to win the Ashes series and regain the urn as two matches are left to be played in the five-match series. The series is now level 1-1.
