Team India opened their World Test Championship campaign with a crushing 318-run victory in the first Test at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Sunday. Jasprit Bumrah led from the front with devastating fast bowling spell to bowl out the West Indies for 100.

Chasing the target of 419 runs the hosts batting lineup was demolished in 26.5 overs with Bumrah returning the outstanding figures of 5-7 off eight overs. The score was also the lowest Test innings total for West Indies against India.

Both the teams will now travel to Jamaica for the second test, but before that, we take the records accomplished by Virat Kohli's side in the first test.
1) The victory helped Kohli surpassed Sourav Ganguly's 11 away wins in 28 matches en route India. This was India's 12 Test victory away from home in 26 Tests under Virat Kohli's captaincy which is the most for an Indian captain.

2) Kohli with 27 wins also equaled MS Dhoni's record for most Test wins for India. Team India skipper achieved the feat in just 47 Tests, while Dhoni did the same in 60 matches.

3) India's 318 run victory is the biggest for them in terms of runs in a Test outside India. Overall, this is India's fourth-biggest win in terms of runs and also the biggest against West Indies.

4) India's previous biggest win for against West Indies on their home soil was by 237 runs in Gros Islet in 2016

5) 100 runs is the lowest total for West Indies against India in a Test match. Their previous lowest all-out total was103 in the series-deciding match in Kingston in 2006.

6) Jasprit Bumrah is the only Asian bowler to pick up five-fer in each of his maiden tours to South Africa, England, Australia, and West Indies.

7) Bumrah's figure of 5/7  is the cheapest five-wicket haul in Test cricket by any Indian bowler.  The other Indian bowler to have cheapest five-fer was Venkatapathy Raju who picked up six for 12 against Sri Lanka in Chandigarh in 1990/91.

8) Ajinkya Rahane century was his first in last 18 matches and also happened to be his tenth three-figure score in the format.
