IPL: Sunrisers Hyderabad appoint Brad Haddin as assistant coach

Haddin will take place of Simon Helmot, the former Melbourne Renegades coach who served in the position since the start of 2018.

Indian Premier League side Sunrisers Hyderabad has roped in former Australia keeper-batsman Brad Haddin as an assistant coach for the next season of the T20 tournament, the announcement of which was made by the franchise on Monday (August 19).

According to reports in Cricbuzz, Haddin will join head coach Trevor Bayliss who recently replaced outgoing coach Tom Moody. Haddin will take place of Simon Helmot, the former Melbourne Renegades coach who served in the position since the start of 2018. 

SRH which has seen them qualify to the playoffs in each of the last four seasons will hope that the Bayliss-Haddin combination will work their magic like they did, when Sydney Sixers won the Champions League in 2012. Haddin already has IPL experience to his name when he played for the Kolkata Knight Riders 2011.  Bayliss had coached KKR between 2012 and 2015 before taking up the England job. 

Haddin coaching resume also includes serving a two-year term as a fielding and wicketkeeping coach for Australia. He was also in charge of the Australia A team posts his international retirement in 2015.
