Fans share an unbreakable bond with their cricketing idols, and this unbreakable bond was on display once again when New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson celebrated his birthday with fans on the boundary rope in Sri Lanka by cutting a cake.

The incident occured during New Zealand's tour game against Sri Lanka Board President's XI at the Air Force Ground. New Zealand play two Test matches against the Lankans from August 14, and this match was in preparation for the two games, which are a part of the World Test Championship.

A group of fans gathered near the boundary fence with a cake, and Williamson ran towards the boundary in between overs to cut the cake that the fans had got for him.

The Sri Lanka Cricket Board posted pictures of the same on their twitter handle, with a caption, "

“What a way to celebrate the Birthday! Kane Williamson celebrates his 29th with Sri Lankan fans eating a piece of Cake with them during the warm-up!”

The first Test will be played at Galle, while the second will be played from August 22 at Colombo.
