A massive fire broke out at Indian cricketer S Sreesanth's house at Kochi on Saturday around 2am in the morning. The cricketer was not present in the residence that is located in the Edapally area. However, his wife and children were present, but no one was injured.

Fire fighters were called from Thrikkakkara and Gandhi Nagar, and doused the flames.

Sreesanth was in the news earlier this week after his life ban for match-fixing had been reduced to seven years by the BCCI Ombudsman DK Jain.

"I am extremely delighted with what I have heard now. Thanks to each one of my well-wishers who prayed for me and the prayers have been answered. I am 36 now and next year I will be 37. I have 87 Test wickets and my aim is I want to finish my career with 100 Test wickets. I am confident that I can return to the Indian Test team and always wanted to play under Virat Kohli", Sreesanth told the media.

Along with Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila, his Rajasthan Royals teammates, Sreesanth was suspended for spot-fixing during an IPL game in May 2013. The Delhi police soon arrested the trio, with BCCI too charging them.

However, Sreesanth repeatedly claimed that the accusations were false.
