Many fans believed that the ICC World Cup 2019 was the end of MS Dhoni's career, but he did not hang up his boots and asked the BCCI for a two month sabbatical to serve the Parachute Regiment of the Indian army. However, widespread rumors are surfacing on different social media platforms that MS Dhoni has called for a press conference at 7pm on Thursday and he will announce his decision to retire from all formats of the game.

Earlier in the day, skipper Virat Kohli took to Twitter to recall the do-or-die match against Australia in the 2016 T20 World Cup. In that game, Virat Kohli stitched together with MS Dhoni for a memorable partnership to help India reach the semifinals.

His tweet read, "A game I can never forget. Special night. This man, made me run like in a fitness test."
