Yuzvendra Chahal is known for trapping the batsman with his brilliant accuracy and guile. He was a major performer for India in the ICC World Cup 2019. He controlled the middle-overs with fellow wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav and picked up some important wickets throughout the tournament. However, in spite of finishing at the top of the table at the end of group stage, India failed to beat New Zealand in the semifinals and returned home empty-handed.

Chahal said that one thing he would like to forget is the loss in the World Cup and the regret will sustain until he holds the World T20 coming up next year.

He said, "We played so well for 9 games but suddenly we were going out of the tournament. The rain wasn't in our hands and so it won’t be right to say anything. It was the first time that we really wanted to go back to the hotel as soon as possible from the ground."

Kohli and his men suffered a 18 run defeat to New Zealand at Old Trafford. Chasing 240 for a place in the finals, India were bowled out for 221 in 49.3 overs.

The leg-spinner from Haryana is representing his state in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Chahal was overlooked for the T20I series against South Africa with players like Rahul Chahar getting a go at the highest level.

Till date, Chahal has represented India in 50 ODIs and 31 T20Is and has picked up 85 and 46 wickets respectively.
