The DDCA (Delhi and District Cricket Association) announced the new head coach and the bowling coach of the senior men's team yesterday. While KL Bhaskar will be the coach of the side, Rajkumar Sharma will be the bowling coach of Delhi.

"We are pleased to announce the appointment of KP Bhaskar as head coach and Rajkumar Sharma as bowling coach of the senior men's team. We wish them luck for the season," wrote DDCA on its official Twitter handle.

Bhaskar played 95 first-class games was the head coach of Uttarakhand prior to his appointment as the Delhi coach in 2016. However, he did not share a cordial bond with skipper Gautam Gambhir. Bhaskar was a crucial batter for the state between 1983 and 1989, where he averaged close to 70. He never played international cricket for India, but represented Rest of India against Bombay, and was also a standby when India toured Sri Lanka in 1985.

Sharma, on the other hand, is the childhood coach of Virat Kohli, and represented Delhi in nine FC games. He batted right-handed and was an off-break bowler as well. In 2016, Sharma was awarded the Dronacharya Award for playing an instrumental role in the success of India's current skipper Kohli.
