Actor Fawad Khan, who stands out for his suave style, says he is a fan of the fashion of the period from 1950s to 1970s, especially that of international actors like Alain Delon and Paul Newman.

"My definition of a classic man, of a hero, has been from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, especially based on films. Style icons for me have been actors like Alain Delon and Paul Newman among others," Fawad said here on Tuesday at an event for clothing brand Giovani, where he was announced as its brand ambassador.

Pakistani sensation Fawad Khan, who enjoys a burgeoning fan following across the border too, doesn't want to be trapped in one kind of role. He says he believes in experimenting new things and increase the bandwidth of his cinematic knowledge.

“Daawat-e-Ishq” has minted more than “Khoobsurat" in the past four days, but they didn’t meet the expectations of the audience, says an expert.

Anil Kapoor and his daughter Rhea had joined hands with Walt Disney Studios to co-produce "Khoobsurat", a remake of the 1980 Rekha starrer "Khubsoorat".

With a strong fan following of the movie’s lead actor - Pakistani sensation Fawad Khan - many people were expected to catch it at a hall, but going by the movie’s earnings it seems like the movie buffs were not that excited about the film that also stars Sonam Kapoor.

While girls are swooning over Pakistani sensation Fawad Khan and his "Khoobsurat" performance, actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana says the new Bollywood entrant is an "eyecandy who can act".

"Just watched Khoobsurat. Loved it. Way to go @sonamakapoor. And girls, watch out for Fawad Khan, the new eye candy who can really act," Ayushmann posted on Twitter.

Fawad earned popularity in India via TV shows "Zindagi Gulzar Hai" and "Humsafar", aired on Zindagi channel here. And his popularity in India has only gone notches higher by starring in "Khoobsurat", which released Friday.

Fawad Khan, one of the most popular actors in Pakistan, says the film industry in his homeland has evolved since the release of his debut film "Khuda Kay Liye" in 2007. Things are looking up now.

The actor forayed into movies at a time when Pakistan's film industry was in absolute doldrums.

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan's experience of working in India was very good and he credits his "Khoobsurat" co-star Sonam Kapoor for it.

"She is a great person and I enjoyed working with her. The environment on the sets was very homely and I didn't face any problem at any stage," Fawad said here Sunday on the sets of "Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega".

"I didn't face any problem in communicating with the people on the sets and a lot of credit goes to her (Sonam) for that," he added.
