Saqib Saleem is a Delhi boy at heart, in love with spicy, mouthwatering local fare from the capital. Given that his family owns the well known Saleem's restaurant outlets in New Delhi, he is very proud of the Biryani and other North Indian delicacies served here.

While shooting for his next in the city, Saqib decided to share some of this delicious food with his crew members. So he treated the entire film crew to Biryani from the restaurant on the sets. In the slightly wintry weather of Delhi, this spiced rich treat was much appreciated by his crew.

Actor Saqib Saleem went gaga over dark, intense revenge drama “Badlapur”, which also stars his sister and actress Huma Qureshi. Her portrayal as a layered character has filled him up with pride.

Actress Huma Qureshi says she's excited about an offer to share screen space with her actor brother Saqib Saleem in the Hindi remake of Hollywood movie "Oculus".

“Yes, it's true. We have been offered that film. It's a very exciting film. Let's see how it goes. It's too early to comment on it, but to act in a film with Saqib would be very exciting,” Huma said at an event here Monday.

“We both are different actors, we both have different energy levels and we both are very different human beings. So, to work with Saqib will be very enjoyable,” she added.

The first edition of the National Children's Film Festival (NCFF) came to an end with the screening of Amole Gupte's “Hawaa Hawaai” Sunday.

The 120-minute film was screened here at the Siri Fort Auditorium. It tells the tale of a young boy, Arjun, who discovers the hidden world of in-line skating through coach Lucky, who mentors kids to become skating champions.

Actor Saqib Saleem says talks are on for a sequel to "Mere Dad Ki Maruti", but he can't divulge details about the project.

Released in 2013, Ashima Chibber-directed "Mere Dad Ki Maruti" was a light-hearted goofy oddball father-son saga. While Saqib played the son, Ram Kapoor was seen as his dad.

"Yes, talks are on and I will be doing the sequel. It's too early to reveal about my character or my role. I'm not allowed to say anything and scripting is still going on. I am extremely excited about the film," Saqib told IANS.

Actor Saqib Saleem, who will soon be seen in Amole Gupte's directorial venture "Hawaa Hawaai", says he was totally moved by the film's story, which is full of emotions and depth.

"I have never read such a script full of emotions...real emotions. Genuinely, I was moved by the script of 'Hawaa Hawaai'," Saqib said here Sunday, during the shoot of a music video for the film.

"I felt 'this is the story I want to be a part of anyhow'. I thought as an actor it will be a huge challenge for me," he added.

While making "Hawa Hawaai", all of director Amol Gupte's focus was on bringing out a quality product rather than impressing or pampering the cast members.

“There are no inflated egos on this set. The film is bigger than everyone else and everyone is doing the best they can for the film. That is what counts,” Gupte said in a statement.

Actor Saqib Saleem could not believe that he is getting a chance to work with filmmaker Amole Gupte when he signed "Hawaa Hawaai".

"I had seen 'Stanley Ka Dabba' and that time I had an agency and I asked them to somehow get me to meet Amole Gupte and I would do any small role in his film. When I got to know that he is making a film, I went to meet him and we did a look test," the 25-year-old said here Tuesday at a special screening of "Stanley Ka Dabba" for underprivileged kids.

Before you jump to conclusions, it is only for Amole Gupte’s next Hawaa Hawaai starring Saqib Saleem, that Pragya has been signed as the lead opposite Saqib.

Hawaa Hawaai is scheduled to release on April 18th, 2014. According to a source Pragya use to visit Amole Gupte’s studio while Abhishek Kapoor was editing for Kai Po Che there. It was there that Amole Gupte overheard Pragya talking in Swedish accent which the filmmaker liked and immediately signed her for his movie. She has to play hoity-toity chick in the film.

Filmmaker Amol Gupte, who is working with Saqib Saleem in his next film "Hawaa Hawaai", is impressed with the actor's performance.

"Frankly, I was not prepared for it, but I am proud to have Saqib on board. Whatever little we have shot has left me impressed," Gupte said in a statement.

Saqib plays the prominent character of a skating coach in the film and is getting himself trained for the role.
