With a neat new feature, Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker takes inspiration from Animal Crossing.
Gamesradar reported that Square Enix updated the official Final Fantasy 14 website earlier today, on October 28, with a few new details about the upcoming Endwalker expansion. The new details included the revelation that the expansion's Island Sanctuary location will let you explore while your Minions roam around, similar to how Animal Crossing's lovely folk roam around your island.
"Come relax in your own personal paradise after a long day of adventuring, where you can let your minions roam free and while away the hours to your heart's content," the official website says. This is an amazing feature that allows Endwalker players to gather all of their Minions over the last decade and let them loose on an island paradise.
Mini Alphinaud, Estinien, Alisae, and other creatures will be swarming our Island Sanctuaries in no time. If you're unfamiliar with Endwalker's new feature, it's essentially a combat-free zone where players can focus on exploration and social interaction, similar to the Housing Plots but without the long wait times and high per-plot costs.
Final Fantasy 14's current storey arc will come to a close on November 23 when Endwalker is released worldwide, and a few days earlier on November 19 for early access players who pre-order the new expansion.
