We have been hearing many rumours about the development of the Apple iPad with OLED displays of 10.86 inch and 12.9 inch. However, the development of the variant with 10.86 inch display is suspended by the company. Apple released two new variants of the Apple iPad in this year’s launch event which commenced on 14th September. The Cupertino based tech giant has asked Samsung to make double stack tandem structure OLED instead of the single ones which is very common and is used by many smartphones and tablet brands.

Apple has halted the development of the 10.86 inch display variant of the Apple iPad and is asking the Korean giant to make double stack tandem structure OLED in place of the previously used single stack ones. The single stack OLED is used in many smartphones and tablets.

Apple is ready to shrink the profit margins and spend money on the double stack OLED. The company wants to make the LTPO panel for better power efficiency. This request from Apple has resulted in delay of the development of the iPad 10.86 inch display as additional resources will be required to produce double stack OLEDs.

This structure is essential as it increases the lifespan of the OLED panels and also it will increase the brightness level. However, the 12.9 inch display variant of the Apple iPad is expected to be released in a couple of years.

Apple achieved the highest ever rating for the OLED display in the Apple iPhone 13 Pro MAX. It has set high standards with its new LTPO OLED panel with a screen refresh rate of 120 Hz. Now the company is keen on providing the same screens to the Apple iPads, so we can expect the next iPad to launch in a couple of years with an OLED screen.

However, decisions can be changed with time so let's wait for the official release of the Apple iPad. For more tech related news subscribe to our YouTube Channel if you haven’t done it yet.
