Apple’s A15 vs A14 Bionic chips: What can we expect from the new A15 Bionic chip?

Apple has never disappointed their smartphone users in terms of speed. They have always offered the best and the fastest processors of all time. The A13 chip that Apple had offered in Apple iPhone 11, is faster than the smartphones launched this year. This shows that Apple is well ahead in the race. Even Samsung Galaxy S21 cannot compete with Apple iPhone 11 in speed. The Apple iPhone 12 comes with an A14 bionic chip which is currently the fastest in the world. We can expect its competitor in today’s launch event where Apple is going to launch its iPhone 13 series. The iPhone 13 series is expected to come with the A15 Bionic chip which has passed all tests and is much faster than the previous A series Bionic chip that Apple has offered in the previous iPhone models such as iPhone 10, iPhone 11 and iPhone 12. 

Apple’s A15 Bionic Chip: expected speed, size and battery consumption

The A15 Bionic chip which is about to make its debut today is expected to be a 6-core configuration same as the A14 Bionic chip. The competitors will be overwhelmed with Apple’s achievement. The A15 Bionic chip achieved an average frame rate of 198 frames per second in the first round. Whereas, in the second round it dipped to 140-150 frames per second. These are the expected results because the manufacturers limit the parts to reach full potential to ensure temperature control. The A15 Bionic chip was way ahead in tests from the A14 Bionic chip. The A15 Bionic chip is likely to be 14% - 15% bigger in size than the A14 Bionic chip. This will be the biggest processor Apple has ever produced. 

The A14 Bionic chip achieves 178 frames per second using the same Manhattan 3.1 benchmark. 

If we compare the A14 Bionic chip with the A15 bionic chip which is going to be launched in a few hours, the A15 Bionic chip performs 14% faster and it secured high performance in the test. We can expect Apple to use TSMC's advanced N5P architecture for less consumption of battery.
