Recently the South Korean tech giant Samsung has launched its latest range of foldable smartphones in India and across the globe. It's hardly a couple of months and the eyes are already up for the launch of the next-gen foldable devices. In the latest development, a new patent of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 has appeared on the web revealing some of the vital information about the handset. In this article are going to explain the patent and what are the new features which are revealed in the patent.

The patent surfaced on the web suggests that the upcoming foldable smartphone from Samsung is going to be equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner, but this time users will be able to scan the thumb impression from both sides and the display. With the Galaxy Z Fold3, the company was expected to introduce the in-display fingerprint scanner but Samsung chose to stick with the side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

However, this time it seems that the company is planning to incorporate something out of the box. With that said if the company will be able to implement the same then it would be the first one in the market to achieve a dual in-display fingerprint phone.

According to the report, the patent was filed back on March 31 2021 with the World Intellectual Property Office. The patent shows that the in-display fingerprint scanner is integrated in such a way that can be accessed from both the cover screen and primary display. According to the report, a small printed circuit board is placed between both the sensor which is connected with the main circuit board, this makes it possible for users to use the fingerprint scanner in both fold and unfold conditions.

Samsung is yet to comment on any of this information and we believe that it's too early to believe anything completely. In the past, we have already witnessed many instances where brands have patented something and launched a whole new device, so we recommend you take this information with a pinch of salt.
