Shabaash Mithu is about young Mithali Raj who fortuitously falls for the sport, cricket. As she grows up, her struggles and troubles forge her path to the indian national team as a young captain.

Srijit Mukherjis Shabaash Mithu, within the first few minutes of its runtime, tries to hold your hand and pull you deep inside the life that Mithali Raj has led. The story goes from little Mithali being a Bharatnatyam dancer to a cricketer, and eventually emerging as one of our country youngest .
Sports biopics, for that matter all biopics, inevitably prove tricky for Bollywood filmmakers with a propensity to miss the wood for the trees. Mercifully, Shabaash Mithu, written by Priya Aven and directed by Srijit Mukherji, does not go overboard with the urge to strike every ball out of the park.
