Arun Jaitley Passes Away: PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Arvind Kejriwal & others offer condolences
Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley passed away this morning at AIIMS, New Delhi. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP leader Amit Shah to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, all joined the nation in mourning the death of the leader.
The day began with a sad news about former Union Minister Arun Jaitley passing away at 66. He was a senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and was known for his contribution to the growth of the national party. Arun Jaitley had opted out from the National Democratic Alliance after the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 due to ill health and had been admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. Arun Jaitley had been kept in the ICU and was being treated by doctors.
A press release came by AIIMS this morning and it read as, “It is with profound grief that we inform about the sad demise of Shri Arun Jaitley, Hon’ble Member of Parliament & Former Finance Minister, Government of India at 12:07 pm on 24th August, 2019. Shri Arun Jaitley was admitted in AIIMS, New Delhi on 09/08/2019 and was treated by a multidisciplinary team of senior Doctors.” After the news of his demise, senior leader of BJP, Amit Shah was extremely saddened and offered his condolences to the family and friends.
Amit Shah said to ANI, “Deeply pained by the demise of Arun Jaitley ji. It is like a personal loss for me. I have not only lost a senior party leader but also an important family member who will forever be a guiding light for me.” On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Abu Dhabi, called Arun Jaitley’s wife and son and expressed his grief over the sad news. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also took to social media and expressed his grief over the loss of the leader.
