The Delhi Police, probing the Republic Day violence that unfolded at the Red Fort in the country's capital, has announced Rs 1 Lakh award for accused actor and activist Deep Sidhu. The police is on the lookout for the Punjabi actor and others accused in the violent episode that took place amid the farmers' protests.

According to a report in NDTV, the Delhi Police has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for information that could lead to the arrest of Deep Sidhu and three others. Whereas, Rs 50,000 has been announced for information on other accused such as Jagbir Singh, Buta Singh, Sukhdev Singh and Iqbal Singh, for their alleged involvement. 

Meanwhile, the police has also released pictures of the 12 accused whom they're on the lookout for the Republic Day violence that took place inside the Red Fort Complex. On 26 January, several farmers had entered Delhi as part of the tractor rally to protest against the farm laws. However, a certain section of those protesting deviated from the set route and stormed their way inside the Red Fort. 

While the police tried appealing to maintain law and order, they eventually had to resort to using tear gas and lathi-charges to regain control. The protestors ravaged the fort complex and even placed a Sikh religious flag. Several photos and videos from the scene went viral on social media. One such video shows protestors using lathis to attack cops.
