One of the biggest moments in the history of Indian Cricket was back in June 1983 when Kapil Dev’s squad lifted the World Cup for the first time at Lord’s in London. It was a moment that we as Indians, still cherish. The cricket fans in India can’t forget the team which put India on the global map among the winners. 

Today, one of the biggest tournaments in the cricketing history of India is the VIVO Indian Premier League. And, the latest buzz is that the 1983 World Cup squad will be playing in it! 

To find out more, we got in touch with the 1983 World Cup Winning team member, Kris Srikkanth and quizzed him about the same. Kris was seen practicing in the nets when we caught up with him. While we were curious to know what his strategy will be, we prodded him a bit more about these rumours. Seeing him practice, one thing is for sure; Kris is gearing up for something big. But, it will be interesting to see if Kris Srikkanth, who opened for the team in the World Cup in 1983, will do the same this time as well?
