The World currently is moving into a direction where there is simply a lot of confusion. While a section of them are going and achieving at the speed of lightning, there’s also a section which is going through and is put through a lot of suffering. Human Rights Day came into being on this very day on December 10th, 1948 when the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations.

International Human’s Rights Day is celebrated to recognise and empower the human rights. The Human Rights Law came into our country about 26 years ago in 1993. So what exactly is human rights? Human rights is the freedom and the right to live, to freedom, liberty and equality.

According to the official website of UNESCO, they were the first UN agency to get on to an action. Interestingly, the declaration in itself is not really considered as a binding document but the 60 human rights instruments that were inspired to make a common standard of human rights.

This year is going to be all the more special as we celebrate the 71st year of Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This year the theme is, “Stand Up For Human Rights” and it promotes and aims at celebrating the power of youth who can bring about a change and make a difference in the World and how humans are treated.

Not just that, it also pushes people and especially the youth of this World to take up issues upon themselves and speak for the right and bring in justice. We see how racism, casteism, climate change, terrorism, illiteracy are issues which needs our utmost focus. It is extremely important for the people of today to speak about, act and bring in a change so that the ones coming in tomorrow can live a happy and comfortable life.
