Akanksha Chamola has finally addressed the ongoing scrutiny surrounding her separation from actor Gaurav Khanna. The actress, who recently appeared on Lock Upp 2, has found herself at the center of discussions about her personal life, with some questioning whether she has been using her estranged husband’s popularity to stay in the limelight. Now, Akanksha has opened up about the claims and made it clear that she does not intend to keep defending her choices.
Akanksha Chamola wants to move forward
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Akanksha Chamola dismissed suggestions that she had discussed her marriage and separation for publicity. She explained that opening up about her personal experiences was an integral part of Lock Upp 2 and not a calculated PR strategy. She said, “The show I was a part of was about revealing your own self and speaking about things and secrets that you may have kept with you for a long time. That is exactly what I did. It was about being honest about my own journey, not creating a narrative."
Akanksha further revealed that there were other aspects surrounding the matter, which she addressed multiple times in the past. However, she now wants to distance herself from the constant cycle of explaining her decisions and proving her side of the story.
Reflecting on the scrutiny she has faced over the years, Akanksha said, “I’ve been dealing with public scrutiny for a very long time now. I dealt with it when I was married and I’m dealing with it even after announcing my separation. The reality is that there are certain things that only the people going through them truly know. I have said what I had to say I choose peace over explanation."
