Alliance: Kushal Tandon’s sister defends him against claims made by Lock Upp 2’s Shreya Kalra: ‘One side of the story’

Television actor Kushal Tandon, currently a contestant on the reality show Alliance, has found himself at the center of a fresh controversy. During a recent episode of the rival reality show Lock Upp 2, influencer and contestant Shreya Kalra made startling allegations, claiming that Kushal had sent her flirtatious direct messages on social media while he was reportedly in a relationship with actress Shivangi Joshi. Kushal Tandon’s sister calls out Shreya Kalra’s cheating allegations
During a conversation with fellow Lock Upp 2 contestant Shilpa Shinde, Shreya Kalra claimed that she and Kushal Tandon had shot a promotional video together for a television show. She alleged that following the shoot, Kushal reached out to her via Instagram DMs.
Shreya claimed, “He DMed me after the shoot. At that time, there was something between Kushal Tandon and Shivangi Joshi. I didn't know about it.” She further alleged that Kushal continued to message her.
According to Shreya, the situation escalated when she later met Shivangi Joshi on a set. Shreya alleged that Shivangi confronted her, stating that Kushal had claimed it was Shreya who had initiated the communication by messaging him first.
Denying these claims, Shreya said, “I said, 'Excuse me! I wouldn't be the first person to approach any man. I've never done that in my entire life.'" Shreya claimed she then showed Shivangi their entire chat history, which she says left the actress visibly emotional.
With Kushal currently participating in Alliance and unable to address the claims publicly, his sister, Tina Tandon, has stepped forward to defend him. Taking to Instagram, she urged fans and the public to refrain from passing judgment until both sides of the story are heard.
“Rumours float, but the truth stands strong," Tina wrote. “I don't usually address things publicly, but the recent remarks about my brother Kushal and his past relationship simply aren't true. At best, they're only one side of the story,” she added.
She continued by emphasizing the importance of fairness, stating, "Since he's on the show and can't respond himself, I'd ask everyone to hold off on forming opinions until they've heard both sides. Fairness starts there. Thank you to everyone choosing support over assumptions." She captioned her post, "Speaking up so the truth doesn't get lost in the noise."
For the unversed, Kushal Tandon and Shivangi Joshi, who starred together in Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka, were frequently linked by fans and media. While they initially kept their relationship private, Kushal confirmed he was in love later that year.
However, in 2025, Kushal announced their separation via an Instagram Story, noting that they had parted ways several months prior.
