Actor Nimisha Sajayan is all set to be seen alongside Barun Sobti and Anshumaan Pushkar in the thriller Babita Singh Reporting. Directed by Ambiecka Pandit and written by Amita Vyas, the film takes viewers into a small Indian town where one demise sets off a dangerous trail of secrets, suspicion and revelations.

Produced by Saurabh Malhotra, Manuj Mittra and Tina Tharwani under Film Squad Productions in association with Act Three, the film is executive produced by Sudip Sharma. Babita Singh Reporting will premiere on Prime Video on August 28, 2026.

The story follows Babita Singh, fondly known as Baby (Nimisha Sajayan), a people-pleasing woman who has spent years putting others before herself. When her childhood friend Bansi, played by Barun Sobti, passes away under mysterious circumstances, Baby becomes determined to uncover the truth. However, the search soon takes deeply personal turns, forcing her to confront truths about herself and the people around her.
As Baby follows a series of clues, the case takes her closer to a truth she never expected. Ambiecka Pandit said, “It is a story about a search that quietly unravels much more than just a m*rder. I wanted the mystery and emotion to move together, while keeping the storytelling grounded and engaging.”
Nimisha calls Baby one of her most meaningful roles
Talking about her character, Nimisha Sajayan shared, “Baby is one of those characters that has stayed with me and, in many ways, changed me as a person. Playing her made me look inward and rethink the relationships in my own life, how I show up in them, what I expect from them, and how often we adjust without even realizing it. That personal connection made Baby one of the most meaningful characters I have played, and one I know I will carry with me for a long time.”
