Actor and producer Vaibhavi Malhotra is steadily emerging as one of the industry's promising new faces, and her upcoming appearance in Zee Studios' highly anticipated series Brown is set to introduce her to a wider audience.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Abhinay Deo and headlined by Karisma Kapoor, Brown features Vaibhavi in the role of Ahana, a character whose journey explores trauma, resilience and hope. While the role demanded emotional depth, the actor has now opened up about the intense experience of preparing for it.
Speaking candidly about the process, Vaibhavi revealed that stepping into Ahana's world was emotionally overwhelming.
"To be honest during the prosthetics session for a scene, it felt like you're being buried alive. As crazy as it sounds, that's what the feeling is. You just need to be dedicated to your craft and enjoy every process. Honestly, I was just meditating the whole time and doing Om Namah Shivaya, literally," she shared.
The anecdote has resonated with many fans, especially as Vaibhavi revealed that she has been receiving numerous messages asking about her experience of playing such a challenging character.
Hailing from Delhi, Vaibhavi represents a new generation of artists who combine academic excellence with creative ambition. A Political Science graduate from Lady Shri Ram College and a postgraduate in Journalism from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, she has also built a reputation as a producer through Visvaa Productions, backing films, ad campaigns and purpose-driven stories.
Beyond entertainment, she has worked with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi and remains deeply interested in humanitarian causes and meaningful storytelling.
Before shooting for Brown, Vaibhavi also played the female lead in Dhan-Abaad, produced by Endemol Shine, which is expected to release. However, Ahana may prove to be her most demanding role yet one that required months of emotional preparation, physical training and complete immersion into the character's psyche.
With Brown generating significant buzz, Vaibhavi Malhotra is quickly establishing herself as a talent to watch, both in front of and behind the camera.
