Indian TV shows are the part and parcel of our daily lives. No matter what, - you hate them, love them but you cannot ignore them. However, the year 2016 proved to be unlucky for a few of the television shows. Despite taking off a good start, promising storylines, out-of-the-box content, and impressive starcast - the show fizzled out sooner than expected.

The majority of the shows were launched on a huge scale but they failed to make a mark on the TRP charts. Oh, there were a few which also fizzled out as soon the show took some weird time leap.

Have a look at the few:

Bigg Boss 10

Thies is the 10th season of the reality TV show, one of the most awaited and controversial ones. But alas, the Salman Khan hosted show tanked this time badly, failing to make it top Top 20 on TRP charts since its beginning! The Indianwaale and Celebrities funda is looking more like a snoozefest now!

Beyhadh

This romantic thriller series premiered on 11th October 2016. Kushal Tandon (Arjun), Jennifer Winget (Maya) and Aneri Vajani (Saanjh) play the lead roles. The show revolves around Maya, a business tycoon, and sociopath, due to her complex and unstable family. She falls madly and obsessively in love with Arjun. Saanjh acts as the BFF to Arjun. This otherwise psycho-thriller love drama has failed to generate thrill and nail-biting moments for the viewers.

Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil

Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil made headlines even before its run on TV. Said to be loosely inspired by SRK's film, Pardes, the show was touted to be its lead actress' Drashti Dhami's comeback. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, it had the camp's blue-eyed boy Arjun Bijlani as the lead actor. The story of Raghav and Naina, two individuals who are fated to meet and fall in love in a foreign land, but destiny has some other plans for them - PMHMD had all the ingredients of a successful show. Alas, be it the time slot, starcast or big launch, nothing is able to help this sinking ship.

Chandra Nandini

TV audience loves drama series based on history. However, unlike Chakravartin Samrat Ashoka or Jodhaa Akbar, Ekta Kapoor's magnum opus Chandra Nandini is faring poorly on the TRP charts currently. Started on 10 October 2016, it stars Rajat Tokas as Chandragupta Maurya and Shweta Basu Prasad as Nandini and is based on the life of Chandragupta Maurya, one of the major Indian Emperors of ancient India. While Rajat as Akbar was loved by masses, Shweta made a strong comeback post her infamous controversy. The show had all the boxes ticked to make it a much-loved one, but alas, the scenario looks glum and gloomy for this show...

Dahleez

Dahleez was a romance courtroom drama which was aired from March 2016 to 26th June 2016. Harshad Arora and Tridha Choudhury played the leads, essaying the role of an IAS officer and a lawyer, respectively. With an angle of terrorism entrapped in bureaucracy and political drama, the show failed to maintain its pace with the audience.

Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai

Started on 5 March 2016, Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai made a quick exit on July 15, 2016. The show was said to be loosely inspired by the lives of the singing sisters Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. Despite Amrita Rao's TV debut and with the supportive cast of Deepti Naval, Aditi Vasudevan, Pallavi Joshi and Zarina Wahab - the show turned out to be a disappointment, failing to meet the humongous expectations.

Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhaniya

With a beautiful set like straight out of a Bollywood film, Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhaniya shut shop in a couple of months. With an air run from 18 July 2016 to 7 October 2016, it had Priyanshu Jora and Namita Dubey in the lead roles. After Tu Mera Hero (serial), this serial was like the perfect comeback for the actor, but the sensitive subject of him being the breadwinner of the family sacrificing his own dreams didn't strike a chord with the viewers.

Tamanna

Tamanna kickstarted on 1 February 2016 and wrapped up on 26 June 2016. The show showcased an inspiring tale of a small town girl from Jamnagar, Gujarat - named Dhara. Her struggle to break social norms and become a cricketer, achieving her dream made for a strong female-oriented concept. But unfortunately, towards the end, with unnecessary love and family drama confused the key plot and the show lost its essence.

24 season II

The second season of the Indian drama television series 24 commenced airing on 23 July 2016 and the finite series ended on 9 October 2016. In the second part, Jai Singh Rathod aka Anil Kapoor came back with a star-studded cast - Ashish Vidyarthi, Sakshi Tanwar, Sikander Kher and Surveen Chawla. However, unlike the first season, the show failed to create the same excitement as season 1, and audience were left with wanting more.

Naagarjuna – Ek Yoddha

Nagarjuna-Ek Yoddha, a fantasy fiction drama, premiered on 30 May 2016. Inspired by a reference to Naag Lok in the Mahabharata where one of the greatest warriors, Arjuna married Ulupi, a Naga princess; the show tapped on the unknown facts from Indian mythology. But the series received not much acceptance from the viewers. The makers replaced the lead actor Anshuman Malhotra with Pearl V Puri, but that too didn't work. Even impressive VFX couldn't hold audience attention. Resultant, the show will air its last episode on 13 January 2017

Comedy Nights Bachao and Comedy Nights Taaza

Comedy, when goes overboard, leaves a bad taste in the mouth. The reality show helmed by Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh saw a decent stint its 1st season - Comedy Nights Bachao. When the team came back with Comedy Nights Taaza - its roast format went totally wrong this time, making celebrities like Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh refusing to participate in the show - not even for the promotion of their films.  And hence, the makers have decided to pull down the show in 2017 beginning, and alter their celeb bashing format, which often goes out of the hand and how!

Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa 9

This otherwise popular dance reality show saw eight successful seasons but the ninth edition bombed badly. Airing just once a wee, instead of twice. It's been six months that the show is on air and the viewers have lost the interest in it owing to not-so-happening judges (Jacqueline Fernandez is the latest addition but failed to recreate Madhuri Dixit Nene's magic!). The show has already shot its episodes hence leaving no surprise element for the fans who beforehand know the fate of contestants and verdict of evictions.

Rishton Ka Saudagar — Baazigar

Rishton Ka Saudagar – Baazigar had probably the briefest run on TV- from 20 June 2016 to 23 September 2016.  It had Vatsal Seth and Ishita Dutta (actress Tanushree Dutta's sister) in the lead roles. It was Vatsal's comeback, but despite a huge budget, thriller and suspense elements failed to connect with viewers and ended abruptly. Rumour has it that the show came up with a non-dating clause, but the lead pair Vatsal-Ishita were spotted holidaying together in Thailand, taking a break from their shoot (in Mumbai)

Behad is the best jenny totally nailed it.

Loved Dahleez. Amazing story but the channel didn't give it the right time slot. Would definitely want a season 2 of the show.

Loved Dahleez. It had an amazing concept but the channel didn't give it the right time slot. Would definitely want a season 2 of Dahleez.

Bigg Boss 10 is nice. I don't know why it's not getting enought trps. There was bad language in a few episodes but overall it's not like that and is very entertaining.

Beyhadd was over-hyped before its release and now it's a big flop. lol!
And Arjun and Drashti can't act to save their lives. Their show was bound to be a flop!

Lol Behad is big flop, it is the number one show in Sony TV and it is the number one show in online for few weeks, if Behad is flop then DMG was flop too because most people watched that show online and Star One channel shows doesn't get good TRP in TV like Sony TV shows, and if it is big flop show then it would not be over hyped before it's release and because it is launched in Sony TV it couldn't get good trp because most people doesn't watch that channel but it still manged to become number one show on that channel when it was launched, it will increase for sure.

Beyhadh is the best serial i have ever watched
