Karan Kundrra admits to ‘parenting’ fiancée Tejasswi Prakash on Desi Bling: ‘I need her to grow up’

While the seven-episode first season concluded in a spectacular proposal, making them officially engaged, it also showcased the unfiltered dynamics of their four-year relationship. Karan Kundrra wants Tejasswi Prakash to ‘grow up’
On Desi Bling, Karan Kundrra proposed to his girlfriend, Tejasswi Prakash. But before he popped the question, his pals on the show wanted to know why he didn’t ask the question even though they had been dating for four years.
Responding to their query, the Splitsvilla 16 host expressed that instead of being just a partner, he often finds himself playing the role of a parent to Tejasswi.
“When it comes to a husband and wife, you have to play the role of a husband, and you have to play the role of a wife as well. I just need her to, you know, probably…grow up. Be less demanding. I can’t be doing everything for you,” he claimed on the show, adding, “I’m the manager. I’m literally parenting her.”
Karan further admitted that his own parents noticed the intense, caretaking nature of their dynamic early on and expressed serious reservations. They were also concerned that this could translate into a lifelong commitment.
“Around 2-3 years ago, my parents asked me, Karan, you are always around her, orbiting her, and you are always taking care of everything. Now I’m very worried that in the future, when we have kids, this will be doubled,” the highest-paid actor opined.
Adding to this, Dyuti Parruck, who is going through marital troubles with his wife, Iryna Kinakh, told him it’ll be ten times worse. In the last episode, Karan laid all anxieties to rest by pulling off a lavish proposal, getting down on one knee, and presenting Tejasswi with a massive diamond solitaire.
Recently, while chatting with Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi, Teja shared her baby plans with Karan. She joked, “Unplanned karke hum bhi wahi karenge lagta hai mujhe… lagta hai aisa hi hona hai. (I think we will also unplan kids and do the same thing.)”
