In a recent episode of Lock Upp Season 2, Akanksha Chamola made a definitive statement about her future during a heart-to-heart conversation with fellow contestant and friend, Pamala Serena.
During the intimate chat, she reflected on her past and shared, “I got married so young, I was married when I was 24.” Trying to comfort her, Pamala responded, "You are still young, you will find anyone."
However, Akanksha was quick to dismiss the idea of finding love again. Gaurav Khanna’s wife stated firmly, “I don't want to get married again. I think I am done. But first time in my life, main akeli rehne waali hoon. (I am going to live alone.) Like, not under my parents' roof or not under my husband's roof. I am going to have my own house. I am going to ride solo for life now.”
This emotional declaration comes at a time when Chamola earlier revealed on the show regarding why her marriage to Gaurav Khanna ended. During the premiere episode, she shocked viewers by revealing that she and Gaurav had already been living separately for a year.
Later in the season, she clarified that the split was mutual and stemmed from fundamental differences over starting a family. Akanksha admitted that she does not possess a maternal instinct and wants to remain child-free, whereas Gaurav strongly desires to have children.
“Log shaadi isliye karte hain (People get married for this.) Let's be honest, 99 percent get married because you want to have kids and continue your family line. He's not wrong on that... For me, I don't want to put him in that situation,” Akanksha had explained to other housemates.
