Lock Upp 2: Ram Kapoor admits being a ‘playboy’, reveals Ektaa Kapoor warned Gautami before their wedding

Television superstar Ram Kapoor has never been one to shy away from honesty. But his latest revelation on the reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa has left fans and fellow contestants stunned. During a candid conversation with a co-contestant, the actor openly admitted to having a "playboy" image before walking down the aisle with wife Gautami Kapoor. Read on!
Ram Kapoor on having countless affairs before marriage
On Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, Ram Kapoor has been grabbing eyeballs, sometimes because of his problematic opinions on adultery and other times for going against the makers. Now, he has stirred up a storm online by admitting that he was a playboy. He confessed that his past dating history was so extensive that he couldn’t even count his affairs.
Ram further revealed that producer and his close friend Ektaa Kapoor was so concerned about his reputation that she actually called his now-wife, Gautami Kapoor, to warn her before their wedding.
While talking to his co-contestant Shreya Kalra, Ram quipped that he didn’t have any affairs after marriage. However, when Shreya clarified she was asking about his life before tying the knot, Ram didn't hold back. “I was a playboy. I can’t count my affairs,” the Bade Achhe Lagte Hain actor admitted without hesitation.
Years later, when news of him getting married to his show Ghar Ek Mandir co-star Gautami spread, Ektaa Kapoor decided to warn her. Ram shared, “When everyone found out that Gautami and I were getting married, Ektaa, who is a friend of mine, called Gautami and said, 'Tu kar rahi hai? Usne bahut saare affairs kiye hain.' (Are you really going through with this? He’s had many affairs.)”
But he didn’t hold a grudge, acknowledging that his lifestyle at the time warranted the concern. "Ektaa was worried for her. And I believe what Ektaa did was right because I was like that back then," he added.
Despite the warnings, Ram and Gautami tied the knot on February 14, 2003, and are parents to two children.
