Ankita Lokhande is one of the most popular Television actors. She won hearts with her portrayal of Archana in the show Pavitra Rishta.
Ankita will soon make her Bollywood debut with Kangana Ranaut's film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
While talking to a leading daily, the actor said that even if she is doing films, she will always be grateful to TV. "It’s because films have a larger audience and give more exposure. Films are a worldwide medium and it’s always good to experience new things in your career. I’ll always be grateful to TV as whatever popularity I have today is because of my serial, I hope that the same will follow after the audience sees my work in films," said Ankita.
In Manikarnika, Ankita will be seen playing the role of Jhalkari Bai.
Ankita's character is important in the film as Jhalkari Bai was the one who used to disguise and shield Rani Laxmi Bai. Her uncanny resemblance to Rani Laxmibai helped her go in disguise and protect her Queen whenever required.
Talking about her role, Ankita earlier stated, "I'd never heard of her before, not many have, but Jhalkaribai was one of the greatest heroes of our proud history. I'm honoured that I'll be telling her story to the world, fighting alongside Kangana's Rani Laxmibai."
Recently at an event when Ankita was asked about co-star Kangana Ranaut, she stated, "She’s a professional on the sets. And you can only see Rani Laxmibai on the sets."
Ankita further said, "Kangana is the hero of the film, and she’s launching me as the heroine of this film. I’m assuming I’m the heroine now! It’s not tough to launch someone, but it’s important to give the right platform, which I’ve got. I’m playing the role of Jhalkaribai in the film, and it’s a fabulous part. I’m working very hard for my role."
