Actor Armaan Kohli was recently arrested by the Mumbai police after his girlfriend Neeru Randhawa filed a case against him. In her complaint, Neeru alleged that Armaan physically assaulted her on June 3. The two were dating for around three years.
Armaan was presented before the Bandra Court wherein his lawyer argued that a bail petition on behalf of Kohli has been filed in Bombay High Court for quashing the case by mutual consent as Neeru was apparently withdrawing her FIR.
His lawyer claimed that the matter between Armaan and Neeru has been settled mutually and hence there is no point in keeping Armaan in the police custody. He also argued that another section applied on Kohli which is non-bailable for possession of a weapon is obnoxious and was only added so that the actor couldn't get bail.
However, the magistrate REJECTED his bail plea. When DNA contacted Neeru she said talks with Armaan's representatives are on and formal terms will be decided during the hearing on Friday. However, a source informed the publication that Neeru will be withdrawing the complaint on three conditions "he [Armaan] issues a formal unconditional apology for the assault, he won’t insist on being a part of her life and let her move on and lead her life as per her terms and thirdly because of her respect for his father, filmmaker Rajkumar Kohli, who is a heart patient.'
Meanwhile, after the alleged assault, Neeru was admitted at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital where she underwent surgery for the injury she suffered. Armaan was booked under sections 323, 326, 504 and 506 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code).
