Beyhadh 2 Review: Jennifer Winget as Maya is danger disguised in black beauty; Shivin as Rudra is intriguing
Beyhadh 2 Review: Beyhadh 2 starring Jennifer Winget and Shivin Narang in lead roles kickstarted from December 2. Read on to know our first impression of the show.

The much-awaited season 2 of Beyhadh is back and how! Giving up on love, Maya (Jennifer Winget) embraces hatred in this and is all set for her big revenge. "Ab tak tumne mera beyhadh pyaar dekha tha, ab beyhadh nafrat." Well, that pretty much sums up the crux as Maya walks in delicately in a white satin dress and returns as Maya 2.0, donning a dazzling black dress, spelling a charm with DANGER written all over her beauty. With her crosshairs set, the diligently upper-class Roy family is in for some major twist and turns.
Jennifer as Maya is undoubtedly a rage but there is a certain calmness in this Maya, epitomising the phrase, 'calm before the storm.' Looking majestic in black, this Maya has already set her eyes on the two brothers from the Roy family, Rishi (a Romeo at heart) and Rudra (great at fencing, a publisher who shares a rocky equation with his dad). Jennifer nails the first scene itself where her eyes show betrayal and hurt to returning with vengeance. From luring a young man into her den to challenging for fencing, Jennifer portrayed different aspects of Maya aesthetically.

Shivin, on the other hand, is perfect as Rudra. From getting the nuances of the sport right to switching between a caring brother to a hurtful son, Shivin did a fair job. There is so much to Rudra and the layering of his character is what leaves us intrigued for Rudra Roy. Ashish Chowdhary plays a businessman with a dysfunctional family setup. But his character is yet to be unravelled.
For the first episode, we absolutely loved the intrigued and midst of hatred induced. What we thought could have been better was the drowning scene of Rishi, it looked a bit animated and staged rather than looking natural.
