Divyanka Tripathi is one of the most popular Television actors. Since 2013, she is ruling hearts as Ishita in the show Ye Hai Mohabbatein.

The actor enjoys a huge fan following and she is one of the top and highest paid actors in the television industry.

Divyanka made her debut in 2006 with the show Banoo Main Teri Dulhan. She later went on to act in comedy shows like  Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabadwale and Chintu Chinki Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Divyanka Tripathi said that comedy shows on TV don't get the credit.

She stated, "There are many comedy shows on television today, but in India, they don’t give credit to comedy shows. I was part of two very comedy successful shows in 2010 and 2011, but when I returned to TV after a hiatus, all people could remember was my debut show, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann. I kept correcting people and telling them that I had done other shows as well. But I have to say, that was not fair. I can’t imagine how actors who do comedy roles on a regular basis would be feeling."

She even shared her experience of being a part of comedy shows she has earlier worked in, "It is really tough to do comedy. But once you have done comedy, playing a dramatic or romantic role, or doing a thriller is a cake walk. You become a pro with spontaneity and timing while doing comedy. It teaches you so much about acting and nuance. I salute all the comic actors who go unnamed or don’t get their due. I feel they are actually playing an important part on Indian TV and upping the level (of acting)."

i remember making sure to watch only comedy shows on indian channels - but nowadays maybe i dont know

Because comedy shows are not funny at all.

I agree with what she said in the last para...but it's a fact that divyanka cannot pull off comedy characters...kapil sharma is famous...shows like taarak mehta...are still running successfully...people remembered u for BMTD coz its a blockbuster those days n your sab shows weren't that famous bcoz they weren't good enough ...n u just nail the serious characters...by this i didn't mean rona dhona n all. Please know where u are good at...n take up new projects please.
