TV actor Additi Gupta made an impressive debut in Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil and went on to feature in many shows latest being Star Plus’ popular show Ishqbaaaz.

The actor who was last seen essaying the role of Ragini in Ishqbaaaz spoke about her experience shooting for the show and why did she choose to play such an eccentric (if we may call) character.

“I wanted to shed the image of a mother and hence I chose Ishqbaaaz because one- it is very popular and secondly it is not saas bahu types. It is more young and relatable. It is real when compared to other shows. It has the best setting and the actors get to wear experimental clothes and hence I came onboard and enjoyed my stint on the show,” Additi revealed.

She further added, “It was so much fun shooting for Ishqbaaaz. I was kicked about playing the role of a psycho and when the makers approached me I was like OKAY. It was so much fun playing Ragini who was doing all those bizarre things like hitting herself with ‘hathoda’ and slapping herself and all of that.”

When asked about her experience working with the team especially the lead pair, Nakuul Mehta aka Shivaay Singh Oberoi and Surbhi Chandna aka Anika, Additi said, “They were so warm and nice. Nakuul and Surbhi are professionals and they made me feel at home. With Surbhi, I had done a scene in Qubool Hai so I knew her. We also met at several parties since our circle is almost the same but Nakuul I met for the second time. I had only met him once at some party a few years ago.”

How did she handle all the hate comments that came her way post her entry in Ishqbaaaz, Additi said that while she was surprised and shocked herself with her social media flooded with hate comments, she learned to just ignore it. “I was shocked when people started writing hate comments on Instagram when I shared the promo of my entry on the show. I was like I haven’t even entered the show and hate was flowing left, right and centre. People must understand that I am just playing a character and it is all reel but then I learned to ignore it,” she concluded.
