September 5th is often referred to as Teacher's day, this title was given after Dr. Radhakrishnan as he believed that teachers should be the best minds in the country.

Everybody has a guru in their lives to guide them and motivate them. We are nothing without our gurus, and this teacher's day we spoke to some of Television's well-known celebrities to find out what they feel about Teacher's day and the importance of teachers and gurus in their lives.

Kanchi Singh: Honestly I don't have a guru in this industry as such. For me, my mother has always been my guiding force. She has been the one to support me, take me through my career path and always keep me grounded and humble. I also feel that teachers day should be celebrated every day. I don't think there should be a specific day to celebrate teachers day, as even they should feel special. For me, teachers are always special because they are the ones who educate us, as well as teach us a lot more things apart from just bookish knowledge.

Shantanu Maheshwari:  My very first show creative head Palki Malhotra has been my biggest mentor. She has taught me to be confident in myself and more importantly the way I am. She has inspired me in many ways! There are even the smallest of things I have learned and picked up from her, which she too doesn't know about. She has been instrumental in shaping my personality and making me what people see me as today!

Anuj Sachdeva: I believe in myself. And learn from others and avoid the mistakes others do. In this industry, your experience is your guru. It is an important day to thank all those people who have shaped up our lives in different ways. Right from our parents, our siblings, our friends, our colleagues, our seniors, our juniors - everyone teaches us something.

Rohan Mehra: For me, all the directors with whom I have worked are my gurus as they teach and guide us! Without their guidance an actor is nothing. It's not important as I believe we should respect and make our teachers always special! They are the ones who guide us, educate us and teach us every small thing in life.

Keith Sequeira- My biggest teacher in life has been my mother. She was my strength and guide. She instilled in me my confidence and helped me understand the right path to life and my career. She always taught me, what you reap is what you sow.
