Shantanu Maheshwari and baliye Nityaami Shirke recreated one of the most iconic songs on the Nach Baliye stage last night in their own classic way, which was quite a stage breaking performance! Not only were the judges and other contestants quite in awe of their unique version of Shammi Kapoor's 'Aaja Aahaah Aaja', but retro queen Helen was also seen tapping her feet with a big smile on her face throughout their act! She too absolutely loved their dhamakedaar performance and even went ahead to call Shantanu a beautiful dancer!

While the act had an amazing retro vibe and fun appeal to it, there were also some challenging moves and grooves Shantanu and Nityaami had to practice to showcase on stage. Speaking about putting together the entire act, Shantanu shares, "Working on this entire act was great fun as it was a highly energetic performance with an amazingly fun vibe to it! Along with the challenges, of course, the first one being me getting into Shammi Kapoor Ji's shoes! And the expectations were even higher this time as Helen ma'am was going to watch us dance! And as kids, both Nityaami and I have been told by our fathers about Helen Ma'am being an amazing performer, as they are huge fans of her! Also, our act this time had quite a few lifts and jumps that were added in by our choreographers Macedon and Subhash, as we wanted to experiment with something new, which was infact a bit of a challenge for Nityaami with her injured knee! But she totally gave it her all and went a step ahead to work on the lifts and jumps in spite of her knee, to put together the entire performance as it was planned, on stage."

Speaking about the entire act and dancing in front of retro legend Helen, Nityaami shares, "Recreating Shammi Kapoor and Asha Parekh's duet on stage was quite amazing, to be honest! Stepping into the shoes of such legendary icons was definitely a challenge, but one we enjoyed taking on as this act was all about enjoying ourselves while dancing on stage, and that's exactly what we did! Dancing in front of Helen ma'am was a great experience. Her kind words for us really touched our hearts, and we are so grateful to have gotten a chance to perform such an iconic number in front of one of the old is gold icons the industry has ever had."
