Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is currently seen in The Kapil Sharma Show, is being criticised left, right and centre over his insensitive remarks towards to the Pulwama terror attack which took place on Thursday. Following the attack, Navjot during a media interaction said, “For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished."

Reacting strongly to it, Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that the channel [Sony] has decided to sack Navjot from The Kapil Sharma Show. A realiable source informed us that the production has been informed about the decision [to sack Navjot]. We further learnt that Kapil along with his team were reportedly going to shoot for another episode tomorrow which has now been postponed till a replacement is found. Reportedly, Archana Puran Singh is in talks to replace Navjot on the show.

The decision was taken after Twitterati started trending Boycott The Kapil Sharma Show over Singh's comments. On Thursday, February 14, 2019, more than 40 CRPF jawans lost their lives in a terrorist attack which took place in Awantipora, Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. A car carrying more than 350 kg of explosives rammed into a bus of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, causing a blast. The incident has led the political parties to put up a united front as they vouch to tackle the issue of terrorism together.

This is not the first time the channel has taken a stern action. Earlier, during the Me Too movement when former Indion Idol judge Anu Malik was accused of harassment, he was asked to leave the show in a prompt action. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured that the sacrifice of the soldiers won't go in vain.

I don’t get it. What was wrong in what he said?

He didn’t say anything wrong. Just making him scapegoat.

Great move! No one can fool bharatvarsh anymore.

modi is fooling you each and everyday! why didn't anybody say something when modi murdered sikhs, muslims?? why didn't people come together to kick him out of the house when he banned notes and caused huge economy loss

India s is turning into a country where it very difficult to have an option.

No free speech allowed.

How sad

Let's hear your opinion when you or your family are targeted by the terrorists

Opinion not option

I totally agree! I find nothing wrong in what he said... and this level of intolerance really makes it so difficult to have an opinion that is different... We should strengthen our security so it becomes difficult for enemies to get in and undertake such horrific acts!! Blaming other countries will not bring lives back! One can only wish we could've used the intel we received to stop this act from happening!

His opinion is valid...people in India are too closed minded. Violence equal violence no wonder it is still a third world country

His opinion is valid...people in India are too closed minded. Violence equal violence no wonder it is still a third world country

Now this is called intolerance. There is no tolerance left in India, They just want to hear pro majority (Hindu) rants and down with Pakistan slogans. This is very sad times for a country that calls itself a democracy. PV will you post? I haven't written anything wrong either. Just like Navjot Singh never said anything wrong (he's a Sikh by the way which means the chances of him having family in IAF is much higher than most who want war, not to mention chances of him knowing someone who's lost their life fighting for the country is also much higher - like myself).

Nothing wrong with he said. In a free country, nothing is more precious than freedom of speech and thought. If we are afraid to speak our minds for fear of retribution by people who don't agree with us or by our government, we might as well live in Pakistan or China. In situations like this, calm heads should prevail so we don't inadvertently cause unnecessary harm and death, including on our side. Hopefully the government will do a thorough investigation and then act to punish the guilty parties.

I am not his fan....but he has not said anything inappropriate.

When you blindly allow hate to justify lynching someone like Navjot Singh Sidhu who is providing a non-bias opinion on a terrible/unfortunate event that's not called a democracy. Agreeably, Pakistan-India have a rocky relationship but to condemn an entire country for the act of a few is just insane. It is truly misplaced energy and I feel bad for the people who buy into this mob mentality. Instead the countries should work together to bring the perpetrators to justice and help those who have lost loved ones in the gruesome attack. PV please post this. Sensational comments promoting hate may get your articles more views but I think we can all agree that the world doesn't need anymore hate currently.

We demand him being sacked now . We don't need people like him living in INDIA. If he don't have no respect for the Indian army or the 42 soldiers (RIP) who were brutally killed in this attack, than we don't support him.

It's modi who's behind all this. Modi knew they are going to open the corridor so he played his dirty trick to stop that. he's a murderer! he has killed people before and he was banned to visit usa and other countries

pseudo-nationalists just want him sacked.
They cannot explain why what he said was wrong.

And channels are too spine-less to take a stand against these pseudo nationalists

also, Archana puran sungh is too irritating to replace Sidhu

There is nothing wrong in what he said. Terrorists are even in India, does that mean India as a whole country is at fault or should be blamed? I’m not Pakistani, I am an Indian and it’s sad that we can’t be adults enough and say these handful of terrorists do not represent the whole nation of Pakistan. He should not be sacked. If he is the show should be boycotted to support him and bring him back. I’m not a fan of Navjoy Sidhu but there’s absolutely nothing wrong said. PV please post...

Though I don't think he said anything wrong, and has a right to his opinion,I feel he's weirdly in love with Pakistan.Few days ago he was telling people how he prefers Pakistanis over south indians and east Indians, and now this.Looks like he regrets being this side of the border.

Sahi Bola hai or Sachi baat kisi sy hazam nhi hoti

Wow thoko tali!

Shame on Sony. This is jus an example of virtue signalling. He didn’t say anything wrong. He condemned violence. In fact his statement was well measured. No free speech in India. What a shame!
