Sunil Grover, who gave an impressive performance in the movie Pataakha in 2018, returned for a mini stint on television with the comedy show Kanpur Wale Khuranas the same year. The show was supposed to be a mini series of around 16 episodes and will soon be wrapping up. We got in touch with Sunil who revealed that his film commitments could only give him a gap of a month to return to TV and that he is sad BUT that was always the commitment. He also reacted to the trolling and constant comparison being made to Kapil Sharma and the show.

Tell him fans will miss him and the show on television, and Sunil prompted, "It is because of me. I had signed the show for 8 weeks ONLY because my dates were locked for Bharat, the movie. I had made this clear even during the press conference and interviews that I could only accommodate this much time. I am kickstarting the last leg of shoot for Bharat from today, and I just want to thank the team who made this show happen including the channel and the guests who accommodated dates because of my schedule."

He added, "Many stars came earlier then they started promotions because I had limited days. It is a month and a half schedule for Bharat, hence we shot the 8 weeks show in the span of one month. I was missing television and hence I took up this show in between, when I had the month gap." He added that while a lot of love has come his way for the show, he is bound by his prior commitment.

We then asked him about constant trolling that has been happening ever since the show premiered. To this, Grover stated, "90% of them are with fake ids, 70-80% of them don't have their own profile picture and are nameless, these are the ones who troll. So, it doesn't bother me. How can these fake people and world bother me? It is a part and parcel of work. If there are a few who did not like the show, there are also people who loved it. Why should these fake, nameless people who troll and abuse me affect me? It is their headache."

He continued, "I respect and have deepest gratitude for the people who liked it and who commented and congratulated me. The purpose is simple, it is to make people laugh." What about the constant comparisons being made to Kapil Sharma and his show? "Let them compare," Sunil exclaimed and added, "I am doing what I know. I enjoyed doing the show. I love humour as a genre. It was a great journey for, day and night we were working on funny one liners, developing a character, working as a team. Making two episodes a day is not easy, no one can do it in this genre, lining up artists and more. If you look at it, it was quite unachievable what this team has been able to achieve. Kudos to the team, Preeti, Neeti, Hemant and everyone, who made this happen."

Would you like to come back to television again? "Of course," Sunil stated and concluded, "Whatever I am, it is because of television. I love it as medium. Everyday you get to connect with the audience and get to entertain them. This is something which I really enjoy, so why not?"

Sunil will be joining Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and others for the last leg of shooting of Bharat starting from today.

I am a big fan of Sunil Grover. He is a brilliant actor. Kanpur Wale Khuranas was a huge disappointment and very irritating. Farah Khan with her forced and sad laughter was a complete misfit. Aparshakti Khurana has a sad unexpressive face not suitable for comedy or for any role in front of the camera. It was very difficult to watch him. The worst part of the show were the horrendous Saalis. Neeti and Preeti are super talented and creative but this show was a disaster from nday one.

Main reason show is closing becasue bad TRPs. Sunil can make all excuses he wants but thats the truth. Sunil is talented man. Good luck to him for future projects.

Please go back to kapil.maza he ajayega

kapil+anyone will definitely be a hit because, his comedy timing is amazing, everyone else look forced. kapil's act is very natural and he convinces in whichever character he plays. his shows are very decent, light, is not touchy with ladies whereas other shows start too much of romance, touching looks terrible

it met the same fate as Mad in India
and in the same Channel....
