The Me Too Movement came to India last year after Tanushree Dutta spoke about her ordeal at the hands of Nana Patekar back in 2008. After her revelation, many prolific names from the media and film industry came out which shook the nation completely. Many of the personalities who were named had to face the consequences of the same. Amidst all the support that the movement was getting from industry insiders, many people also shunned the movement as well. Speaking of this, at a recent event actor-politician, Shatrughan Sinha made some comments on the Me Too movement, which were not liked by many people.

He expressed his relief that his name didn’t come out in the movement and passed comments which trivialised the movement. This hasn’t gone down well with a lot of people including the star of Ishqbaaz, Nakuul Mehta. Nakuul, who has been a strong supporter of the movement, took to Twitter to express his opinion on Shatrughan Sinha’s comments on Me Too Movement. He shared the tweet by ANI and wrote, “This did not even need a KWK couch! Absolute bonkers.”

Nakuul called Shatrughan Sinha’s comments ‘absolutely bonkers’ and also mentioned that the actor-politician didn’t need to be on the controversial Koffee With Karan couch to say such a thing.

Not just Nakuul, but Twitterati slammed Shatrughan Sinha for belittling the movement which surely was in the interest of women. The whole controversy was based on his statement made at an event where he said, “I consider myself very lucky that in today's time even after several instances, my name did not pop up in Me Too movement. That's why I always obey my wife or make her my shield when I step out of the house.”

The Me Too Movement lead to names like Nana Patekar, Alok Nath, Kailash Kher, Sajid Khan and more to be revealed by women who faced harassment at the hands of prominent people from the industry.
