On 10th June, cricketer Yuvraj Singh who is known to be an all-rounder, announced his retirement from the sport. During a press conference in Mumbai, Yuvi stated that his career in cricket has been a wonderful roller coaster ride, but it has to come to an end and hence, he has decided to move on. A shock went over netizens and soon enough, social media was full of messages for the legend, praising and thanking him for his service.

Bollywood celebrities such as Varun Dhawan and Anil Kapoor took to their social media handle to pen down heartfelt messages for Yuvi. Varun Dhawan tweeted: “Thank u @YUVSTRONG12 for all the memories and always being a great ambassador of the game  #yuvrajsinghretires.” Anil Kapoor called the cricketer an inspiration and wrote: “So many memories, victories, World Cup, unforgettable 6 sixes in an over & so much more! @YUVSTRONG12 you are an inspiration to all Indians! Always making India proud! Wishing you all the happiness, luck & success for the future! You will be missed! Thank you for everything!”

Comedian Kapil Sharma, who is a self-confessed fan of Yuvraj Singh, was also deeply affected with the news. In an emotional tweet, he wrote: “Jab jab cricket ki baat hogi, @YUVSTRONG12 paaji ke 6 chhakkon ka zikr zaroor hoga. You will always be among the greatest all-rounders of the world. The best cricketer, and an even better human being. Wish you all the best for your next innings paji. Love u always respect.”
