Television actor and singer Karan Oberoi who was granted bail last week has now begun fighting the case against the woman who accused him of rape and extortion. Oberoi was in custody for at least a month and was granted bail just a few days ago. As per latest reports, the actor has now questioned the Oshiwara police for their delayed action in seizing the woman's phone. According to a report in Times of India, Karan Oberoi 's rape accuser surrendered two cellphones to Oshiwara police on Monday.

Questioning the police's inaction, Oberoi's lawyer Dinesh Tiwari, said, "It is extremely surprising how police probed without seizing her phones, despite a strong reprimand from HC on June 7 during Oberoi's bail hearing. They allowed three days to pass before seizing the phones. Every passing moment leaves the possibility for (the woman) to destroy data (on her phones)."

The report also added that Tiwari had requested the police to take the woman's phone at the beginning of the case. The woman had also filed a false second FIR in the case stating that she was attacked. However, the police quashed the FIR saying that the woman had in fact staged the attack. The police was also questioned by the court as to why no action had been taken against the woman for staging her own attack.

Karan Oberoi and his close friends as well as his sister had furnished evidence in form of WhatsApp messages stating that it was a one-sided affair and Oberoi did not interact much with the woman.
