Later on, Gita Gopinath shared this particular video clip on Twitter and wrote, “Ok, I don't think I will ever get over this. As a HUGE fan of Big B @SrBachchan, the Greatest of All Time, this is special!” In response, the megastar wrote, “thank you Gita Gopinath ji .. He said it to make his plastic daughter-in-law jealous.

It was just a simple & spontaneous comment, thats it. Iam clueless how one could link it with sexism, cheap etc. May be celebrities don't have the right to speak their heart.

It's not wrong to call someone beautiful. But relating that beauty with their profession and making a statement about it was thoughtless. Indirectly, he's saying that "beautiful" people are only fit for careers like acting or modelling, and women with looks that the society sees as "ugly" are only fit for being economists. "Too pretty to be an economist"...blatant sexism. Expected better from Jaya Bahaduri's husband...

Amitabhji is the epitome of a Gentleman! No need to misrepresent his sincere words!

Firstly, amitabh should limit his talking and posting. He has aged and for some time now, quite a few of his posts and utterances hve stirred unfavourable reactions. Secondly, gita gopinath should not have responded to this inane statement.

Surely the decisive reaction is that of Gita Gopinath herself? If she is so delighted with the comment, why are outsiders cribbing?
