Rudrakaal: Swanand Kirkire to play lead antagonist in Bhanu Uday’s crime drama; Says ‘Feel truly privileged’
Swanand Kirkire, who is making his debut on the small screen with Rudrakaal, is excited to play a negative role in the show. Here’s what he said.
Bhanu Uday Goswami starrer Rudrakaal is set to be premiered this weekend and not just the cast but the audience is also quite excited about the thriller drama. In fact, the promos of the show have also been garnering a lot of attention and have received a positive response. While Rudrakaal will feature Bhanu playing the role of DCP Ranjan Chittoda, it is revealed that the crime investigative thriller drama will have National Award Winning Actor Swanand Kirkire playing the role of the lead antagonist.
To note, Swanand, who is also a renowned lyricist, Writer, Playback Singer, will be making his acting debut on the small screen with Rudrakaal and he is quite excited about the same. Sharing his excitement, the actor stated, “I am glad to collaborate with Star Plus and producer Nitin Vaidya as I mark my acting debut on the small screen. The subject of the upcoming series and my mastermind character is what excited me the most to take up this show. Above all, I feel truly privileged and fortunate to begin work with various people and don unique roles in today’s time. And the reason I choose to play the antagonist in Rudrakaal is that I have always valued the script over my personal on-screen or off-screen image.”
Meanwhile, Bhanu has also been working hard for his role of an IPS officer in the show. He also revealed what made intrigued him about the series and said, “What drew me to the story is the length a person can go for what is right and risking his own existence in the process. The character of DCP Ranjan Chittoda required a lot of attention to detail. It required me to visit my local police station and understand the various characteristics of a police officer.”
