Bigg Boss 12 contestant Sreesanth's life has been surrounded by controversies both on personal and professional terms. He has been called as a controversy’s favourite child. He has always managed to be in the headlines. When he was inside the Bigg Boss house, we saw his aggressive behaviour. There were instances of him trying to run away from the house. Then, his fellow inmates also complained of his rude language and attitude issues. He even injured himself in the house. In a nutshell, the former cricketer was in news for all the negative reasons. On his birthday, we are revisiting all the major controversies which involved him.

Spot-fixing allegation

This allegation entirely changed his life. In 2013, Delhi police arrested Sreesanth and two of his IPL teammates on charges of spot-fixing. This led the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to ban the cricketer from playing for the rest of his life. This is one of the major reasons for his frustration. On 18 October 2017, Kerela High Court restored the life ban on Sreesanth.

Harbhajan Singh and the SLAP

Harbhajan Singh slapped paceman S. Sreesanth during their Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter in 2008. It was all over the news. Sreesanth was in tears post the incident and Harbhajan was fined and banned from the tournament. Sreesanth, back then, had said, “It is normal. Nothing serious happened. It is all in the game. I am fine. We will still be part of the national team.”

Adultery accusations

Yes, Sreesanth was accused of adultery. Sreesanth’s ex-girlfriend Nikesha Patel accused him of cheating his current wife Bhuvneshwari Kumari. Patel had said when he was dating Bhuvneshwari, he was in a relationship with her at the same time. She told The Times Of India, "I've not met Sreesanth after the break-up, but I have been watching him on Bigg Boss. Sreesanth claimed on national television that he was in love with Bhuvneshwari for seven years before he got married to her. This makes me wonder, why was he in a live-in relationship with me for over a year around that time."

Sreesanth and Shriya Saran chapter

It was 2008 when Sreesanth was linked to actress Shriya Saran. They were spotted partying together after they did a fashion show together. The actor shut down all the reports by saying, “Sreesanth and I are brand ambassadors for an upmarket product. Yes, we were there at a party together, but I barely spoke to him for five minutes. And I was just being sweet. I don't even know him.”

Verbal spat with Andrew Symonds

If you have followed cricket, you might remember that Sreesanth was in the headlines in 2007, as he got into a confrontation with Andrew Symonds after clapping on his face upon his dismissal. Sreesanth later even denied that he had tried to mock Symonds. During that tour, Sreesanth and Symonds had already had a couple of spats but this one is still remembered by the cricket fanatics.

Well, Sreesanth has been a part of many more controversies. He has been linked with Riya Sen, Surveen Chawla and Raai Laxmi. The above-mentioned are the major controversies of his life.
