Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Producer Asit Modi on a lookout for Dayaben; Disha Vakani to be replaced

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest running shows on the Indian television and even after almost a decade, the fans keep sending out love to the show. The show has made the actors household names with their characters and the peculiar nature of the show. And well, if the Indian television has got a major takeaway from the show, then it is none other than Dayaben, which was played by Disha Vakani in the show. However, looks like we might not see her as a part of the show anymore.
As we know, Disha went on a maternity break in September 2017, and ever since, there has been no updates on her return. Hence, producer Asit Modi, while talking to Times of India, went on to say that he has little option but to begin the search for a new Dayaben as nothing and no one is bigger than the show. The producer also said how there are women who take maternity breaks and then get back to work soon, and now, the team has waited enough.
He further added how Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is incomplete without Dayaben. He mentioned how they can't wait for her forever, but he also added that finding a new actor is a lengthy process and is not something that can be achieved overnight. He also added further how they are currently at the initial process of auditioning for the character and nothing is sure as yet, but all he highlighted throughout is that the show must go on.
