he brutal gang-rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl Asifa has shaken the entire nation. People are angry that there isn't any action taken against the culprits and the government is keeping quiet.

A lot of Bollywood and Television celebrities came forward to protest to demand justice for Asifa and punishment to people who raped and killed her.

This horrific incident has left a lot of people worried and created an unsafe environment for women to live in this country. Many parents are worried about their daughters and their safety. Karanvir Bohra's wife Teejay Sidhu shared a hard-hitting post on her Instagram page telling Prime Minister Narendra Modi to stop giving assurances. She questions him if her girls are safe in India or not.

Teejay wrote, "Dear Mr PM,
This is one of my #baby #girls. I don't like to use her picture with this kind of post but I feel I have to. The same way this #baby trusts her father to take care of her, we look up to you, to take care of us.
People have been speaking about #hindustan lately, and using words like disappointment, disgust, ashamed. There should be pride in being #Indian and faith in our judiciary. Both are lacking. A little girl was raped and murdered, brutally. It is a VERY big deal! After a few days, a 'safe' statement was issued, saying the culprit would be brought to justice. But when??
And it's not just about one little girl. Another rape/murder happened in Surat just yesterday, to a nine year old girl. All of India's daughters need to be protected. Only if punishment is swift and severe, will anybody take these crimes seriously. No more assurances, Mr PM - action please. If things like India's currency and taxation system can be changed overnight, why does justice take so long?
I don't know how far social media posts and candlelight vigils will help, but as a mother, I needed to say something, somewhere. I want to know if my daughters will be safe in YOUR #India. Will anybody's? #notmyindia #justiceforasifa #kathua #justiceforall @narendramodi"

Well, we agree with Teejay Sidhu!

There is no safe heaven anywhere in the world. I agree strict laws have to be in place so that rapes don't happen and rapists will be punished immediately. These fake celebs should stop blaming the PM and India for everything, they are one of the reasons for eve teasing, woman abusing, objectifying body parts and using women only for their body. Is that not what these celebs show in their films and outside too. If Teejay Sidhu feels so bad about living in India the family can move to neighboring countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afganistan, Saudi etc where they will understand the meaning of freedom and how much women are tortured and looked down upon

Excuse me? I am from Pakistan and no we are not looked down upon and I have all the freedom! Rapes are increasingly making headlines in India and it's saddening to see how innocent young girls are treated like. Pls stop pointing fingers at neighbouring countries..
pv pls post don't be biased.

Yes, Pakistan is very safe and that's why thousands of hindu refugees from pakistan have fled to India.

True -- if India is so unsafe why are rohingyas and bangladeshis flooding into our country illegally??

When was the last time you heard anything about rapes in Bangladesh and Pakistan? India is Notoriously known around the world for having a high number of rapes. Instead of pointing fingers at other countries, try to change the men in your country first. Stop making excuses.

So true -- rape and murder of over 12 children in Kasur, Pakistan in a span of 1 year was imagined -- it never happened.

Other child sexual abuse allegations in kasur where over 250 children were raped and 400 videos of rape were made was also imagined. Yes, making excuses.

Why dint you ask this question to any of our earlier PM's ?? Is he responsible for each one of our responsibilities ?? Did rape not happen earlier ?? Y are everyone targeting the man who has brought so many good changes in such a short time ??

Yes, these incidents happened before too. But never took the religion color. This act is gruesome. No one is bringing in politics here, but when something happens, the leader is questioned. Iam a Modi fan too, but please stop making her emotions into political stand. Looking at the girls picture haunts me, as i have a girl of same age too. I treated her till now as a kid, but after this i fear i can never let her leave my side. So, i too question Modiji as i dont know who else to question, please let me know who will you question.

Question Rahul Gandhi if he can promise us of a safe country if he is elected.

Currently Modi is prime minister so it is important to ask him. While asking for votes, He promised that the rates of rape will decrease in India but unfortunately nothing has changed. In Asifa case, they were hiding instead of punishing the rapists and murderers of Asifa.

This is politics. I feel the opposition party is bribing men to rape minor girls, to tarnish our PM's name. How all of a sudden so many small girls are getting raped ?? It's Congress and Rahul Gandhi and his men doing this.

These events are very disgusting and appalling. But why to blame PM for it ? Does he have a magic wand to stop rapes ? In fact in Madya Pradesh a law has been passed to give death penalty to rapists of kids under 12 years of age . This should be made into a national law now .
And Bollywood celebs , please stop your hypocrisy now . When the justice system convicts someone like Salman then all Bollywood will stand behind him , saying he has done charity , is being Human and should be pardoned.
On the other hand if a random person commits a crime , then all of Bollywood will be blaming the PM for it and demanding justice/ action .

Miss Teejay Siddhu you are a Canadian Citizen so are your daughters so you should be posing this question to your PM Justin Trudeau not the Indian PM. pv please post this.

Its about law enforcement! Change the laws and set an example india counted 20.000 child rapes in 2016! I dont know about other countries

why would she post the uestion to Trudeau??ppl are tipsy on this forum

She is Canadian citizen.... just look at your joker PM who is hobnobbing with the enemies of my nation....

Teejay, your kids are very cute; but are they Indian??? or Canadian..
You and your kids spend all of your time in Canada and come to India for vacation and for publicity write such posts on social media.
Agree action needs to be taken, but dont use your kids for such publicity
