Sohail Khan reveals Salman Khan's reaction to him featuring in Alliance: ‘You know what you’re getting into?’

Bollywood actor, director, and producer Sohail Khan is gearing up for a new chapter in his career. He is set to make his highly anticipated reality TV debut with the Kunal Kemmu-hosted show, Alliance, as a wildcard contestant. Recently, he opened up about wanting to carve out a distinct identity away from his family name and move past the ‘Salman Khan’s brother’ tag.
Sohail Khan on featuring in Alliance
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Sohail Khan candidly shared that he views the reality TV show Alliance as a golden opportunity to move past being perceived only as ‘Salman Khan's brother.’
Speaking about his motivations for entering the show, the 55-year-old filmmaker shared, “In the show, there's no family name to lean on. No industry clout. It's just me, my mind, and how I play the game. If people walk away seeing a side of me they didn't expect, good. That's exactly why I'm here.”
Having watched Salman Khan host Bigg Boss for over a decade, Sohail admitted he was initially hesitant about ever entering the reality TV space. He noted that his brother’s domain is about personality clashes and high emotional drama.
“I’ve seen what it takes, the energy, the drama, the emotional toll. And I always thought, 'That's his space, not mine'. Salman’s show is about personalities, conflicts and emotions,” she added.
Sharing why he agreed to do this show instead of being part of Salman’s show, Sohail expressed, “But this one is fundamentally different. It's a game of the mind. Strategy. Outwitting people without them knowing they've been outwitted. That challenge appealed to me in a way nothing else has.”
When Sohail first broke the news to his elder brother that he would be participating in a daily reality series, the Dabangg star’s reaction was a mix of support and protectiveness.
“He was intrigued,” Sohail revealed. “And then he said, 'You sure you know what you're getting into?' Which, knowing him, is both a warning and a blessing. I'll take it,” the Tubelight actor opined.
When asked what roles their family members play if they’re on the TV show, Sohail stated that Salman would be the leader while Arbaaz Khan would be the peacemaker as he “listens, mediates and keeps everyone grounded.”
According to him, the master strategist would be their mother, Salma Khan, who has been managing their family for decades.
