Akanksha Chamola and Gaurav Khanna have been making headlines after the actress revealed that the couple had decided to part ways. She has now made another personal revelation on Lock Upp 2, sharing that she identified as bis**ual before her marriage.

During an episode of Lock Upp 2, fellow contestant Shreya Kalra revealed that she had overheard Akanksha speaking with Sufi Motiwala backstage about her s*xuality. The conversation prompted Akanksha to address the topic herself.
Becoming emotional on the show, Akanksha Chamola said, "Main shaadi se pehle bis**ual thi. Mere relations rahey hain kuch ladkiyo ke saath. Bohot zyaada intimate relations nahi rahe hain, but I have been in relations with a few females."
(I identified as bis**ual before my marriage. I have been in relationships with a few women. They were not deeply intimate relationships, but I have been in relationships with some women.)
She further added, "Mujhe ladkiya pasand hain. Main admire karti hoon, main attract hoti hoon unke taraf. I think mera woh safe space hain. Growing up, mujhe lagta hain ki it's a very male-dominated world toh humesha aap mummy, beheno ke taraf jaate ho… kahi na kahi jo comfort zone unse milta hain. I love that feminine energy, I love that comfort and thrive in that. Aise society mein rehte hain jaha log bolte hain ki ladkiya dost nahi rah sakti, jealousy hota hain ya competition hota hain. Mere mein woh sab nahi tha, mere liye all females are beautiful. It's a tag that society has given, for me it's pure love."
(I like women. I admire them and feel attracted to them. I think they have always been my safe space. Growing up, I felt that the world was largely male-dominated, so one naturally turns to their mother and sisters for comfort. I love that feminine energy and the sense of comfort it brings. We live in a society where people say women cannot be friends because of jealousy or competition, but I never felt that way. For me, all women are beautiful. These are labels created by society; for me, it has always been about pure love.)
Earlier, Akanksha had revealed that she and Gaurav Khanna had mutually decided to end their marriage. She shared that they had been living separately for the past year and had been discussing the decision during that time.
During the same interaction, Akanksha clarified that there was no bitterness between them. She said they remain in touch but realized they were not the right life partners for each other, as they wanted different things in life.
