Ramakant Dayama, a popular face in Indian soap operas and films, has passed away after battling a prolonged illness. The actor, known for portraying a variety of roles over the years, was confirmed to have passed away by his co-actor Shubhangi Latkar, who penned a heartfelt tribute in his memory.

In a post on social media, Shubhangi Latkar wrote, “Today, we lost a truly beautiful soul… and I am simply speechless. Ramakant Dayama was not just a dear friend and family friend to me, but someone I deeply admired and respected. He was full of life, warmth, and energy. He truly knew how to enjoy life despite every challenge. A spontaneous dancer, a soulful singer, a brilliant actor, and for me, a wise advisor whose words always carried meaning.”
Addressing his untimely demise, the actress added, “He may have appeared physically small, but he was one of the strongest and most courageous people I have known. Though we all knew he had been unwell for many months, somewhere in our hearts, we never stopped hoping…”

Shubhangi further shared that they had many unfinished plans together. The actress revealed that, after many years, she had truly wished to work with him again, and they had decided to collaborate on a Hindi play. According to her, when she approached him about it, he smiled and said that he would do it once he recovered. She concluded by saying that Ramakant would be deeply missed and that his warmth, courage, art, and beautiful spirit would always remain alive in their hearts. She also prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
Over the last two decades, Ramakant Dayama played several pivotal supporting characters across Bollywood films and television shows. He was fondly remembered for portraying the Association Member in the 2007 sports drama Chak De! India, starring Shah Rukh Khan.
Ramakant had appeared in films such as Ram Setu, Crew, Mumbai Saga, Brothers, Paa, and Drive. His television and OTT work also included acclaimed series like Made in Heaven, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, and Farzi.
The veteran actor is survived by his daughter, Yashaswini Dayama, and son Prabuddh. Yashaswini has also carved a niche for herself in the industry with performances in films like Dear Zindagi and Phobia.
