England on Saturday ended the World Cup losing streak against Bangladesh as the hosts knocked down Men in Green by 106 runs at Cardiff. The Englishmen posted a mammoth total of 386 runs after being invited to bat first by Bangladesh. The Bangla Tigers in reply were rattled on 280 runs as England bowlers were too good at the flat strip of Sophie Gardens. Here are the top three performances from the match

Jason Roy’s fiery hundred

The swashbuckling England opener, Jason Roy, was on song again today. The right-handed batsmen disrupted Bangla bowlers all around the park, scoring a 121-ball 153 runs. The 28-year-old went on to hit 14 fours and five maximums in his knock. His excellent innings helped England post the big total of 386 runs.

Shakib Al Hasan’s sublime ton

Although Bangladesh lost two early wickets in the big chase, it was Shakib Al Hasan who came to the rescue. The southpaw played a sublime inning to give some hopes to Moshrafe Mortaza and Co. Batting at number, he scored 121 runs in 119 balls, helping Bangladesh cross the 250-run mark.

Jofra Archer’s speedy spell

It was all speed and fire when Jofra Archer ran in to bowl today. The tall lad hit the deck hard, clocking at 95 miles per hour to give Bangladesh batsmen a hard time at the crease. He scalped three wickets in his 8.5-over spell while giving away meager 29 runs.
