The defending champions will lock horns with Afghanistan in their first match of the World Cup. The Men in Yellow showed why are they again the favourites by winning both the warm-up matches quite comfortably. They first shocked hosts, England while later cruised past Sri Lanka. Their victory over England was something that added to their confidence ahead of the main event.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan too won’t be short of hopes as they defeated Pakistan in the first practice match. The Afghanis, however, lost the second one against England. Though they are being termed as underdogs of the tournament, considering their recent good outings in the ODI cricket.

Head to head

The two teams have met only twice in the One-day internationals with Australia having triumphed at both occasions.

Match Prediction

Although Afghanistan will enter the tournament as one of the dark horses, Australia is most likely to win this match. Aaron Finch’s men have been in top form, not only in warm-up matches but prior to that as well.
